Job Description

Career.zycto is on the lookout for a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our inventory and dispatch operations in Cowbridge, Cardiff. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods from receipt to dispatch. You will play a pivotal part in maintaining optimal inventory levels, implementing best practices for stock control, and orchestrating the smooth and timely distribution of products to our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Ensure accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and annual stock takes, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Oversee the dispatch process, ensuring all orders are picked, packed, and loaded efficiently and accurately for timely delivery.
  • Implement and maintain robust health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse personnel, promoting skill development and high-performance standards.
  • Utilise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to monitor stock levels, track shipments, and generate operational reports.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within warehouse operations and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as customer service and transport, to ensure seamless order fulfilment and delivery.
  • Manage warehouse equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with all operational regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role in a logistics or distribution environment.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and dispatch procedures.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, train, and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations within a warehouse setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Warehousing & Logistics or a related field.
  • Forklift truck licence (reach and counterbalance).
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • First Aid at Work certification.
