Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, meticulously inspecting for damages and discrepancies.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips, ensuring accuracy.
- Log all incoming and outgoing materials into the inventory management system.
- Prepare packages for outgoing shipments, including labeling, packing, and necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, customs forms).
- Coordinate with freight carriers and couriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and stock reconciliation.
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (if certified).
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., procurement, sales) regarding shipment statuses.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Shipping & Receiving Clerk or similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 25 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Good communication skills in German and English (B1 level minimum).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in logistics or warehouse management is a plus.
- Forklift operator certification (Staplerschein in Germany).
- Experience with international shipping procedures and documentation.
- Knowledge of safety standards in a warehouse environment.
