Career.zycto is seeking experienced Security Guards to provide comprehensive day and night shift coverage for a key client site in the Aberdare, Cardiff area. This is a critical full-time role that demands professionalism, integrity, and a proactive approach to maintaining a secure environment for personnel, property, and assets.
As a Security Guard with Career.zycto, you will be the frontline defender, responsible for implementing security protocols and responding to any potential threats or incidents. Your role will involve a blend of proactive patrolling, meticulous monitoring of surveillance systems, and effective access control. Given the nature of both day and night shifts, you must be adaptable, able to maintain peak performance regardless of the time, and possess excellent judgment under pressure. During your shifts, whether during the busy daytime operations or the quiet vigilance of the night, you will be expected to maintain a high level of situational awareness, detect suspicious activities, and deter unauthorized access. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internal and external, ensuring all areas are secure.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems diligently for any suspicious activities or breaches.
- Control access points, verifying identity and authorizing entry for approved personnel and visitors.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other documentation.
- Enforce site-specific security policies and procedures.
- Liaise effectively with management, emergency services, and law enforcement when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Conduct routine checks on safety equipment and report any malfunctions or hazards.
- Support the general safety and security of the client site.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding)
- Proven experience in a security guard role (minimum 1 year)
- Excellent observational and communication skills
- Ability to write clear and concise reports
- Proficiency in monitoring CCTV and alarm systems
- Strong problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making under pressure
- Physical fitness to conduct patrols and stand for extended periods
- Basic First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Availability to work both day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a corporate, retail, or industrial security environment.
- Advanced conflict resolution and de-escalation training.
- Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
- Experience with access control software and systems.
