Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to designated locations within Marlie Mount, Old Harbour, and surrounding areas.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes efficiently to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all safety measures are met and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring proper handling, securing, and documentation of all items.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of delivery manifests and collect appropriate signatures or payments as required.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other logistical tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class 3 or 4 in Jamaica) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of local geography and road networks in Marlie Mount, Old Harbour, and wider St. Catherine parish.
- Strong physical stamina to handle loading and unloading of goods.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate a variety of delivery vehicles safely.
- High degree of responsibility and a strong work ethic.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Defensive Driving Certification.
- Experience with GPS navigation and route optimization software.
