Are you an experienced and highly skilled Refrigeration and HVAC Technician seeking a challenging opportunity with a leading engineering solutions provider in Mauritius? As a Refrigeration Technician specializing in HVAC and repair, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide array of refrigeration and air conditioning systems across various commercial, industrial, and residential settings. You will work with diverse equipment, from walk-in freezers and chillers to sophisticated VRF/VRV systems and split units. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, including chillers, freezers, and cold rooms.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on various HVAC systems (split units, package units, VRF/VRV systems) to ensure optimal efficiency and longevity.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in refrigeration and HVAC equipment using appropriate testing tools and techniques.
- Execute precise repairs, including refrigerant recovery, recharging, component replacement, and system calibration.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to facilitate accurate installations and repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of services performed, parts used, and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service, explaining technical issues clearly and offering effective solutions.
- Manage inventory of tools and spare parts effectively, reporting needs as required.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency service outside of regular business hours.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Refrigeration and HVAC Technician.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, components, and refrigerants.
- Expertise in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC/R systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Solid understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to HVAC/R work.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Mauritian driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) and controls.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency best practices in HVAC/R.
- F-Gas certification or equivalent local certification.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role.
