Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms and public areas, including lobbies, restrooms, and corridors, in strict adherence to established standards and procedures.
  • Thoroughly dust furniture, vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, make beds with fresh linens, clean windows, and empty waste receptacles.
  • Sanitize and clean bathrooms completely, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, and floors, ensuring all fixtures are sparkling and spotless.
  • Replenish guest room supplies such as toiletries, clean towels, minibar items, and complimentary amenities.
  • Inspect and report any maintenance needs, damages, or potential safety hazards identified in guest rooms or common areas to the relevant department.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly, efficiently, and courteously, always striving to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Strictly adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organized state of housekeeping trolleys, storage areas, and all cleaning equipment.
  • Assist with laundry duties, which may include washing, drying, folding, and meticulous storage of linens and towels.
  • Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with other departments, such as Front Desk and Maintenance, to ensure seamless and efficient hotel operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness in completing all assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrable reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to perform duties efficiently both independently and as a valued member of a team.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift, bend, push, and pull objects as required for daily tasks.
  • Basic proficiency in communication skills (both written and verbal) in English and Sesotho.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent educational qualification.
  • Previous experience of at least 6 months in a similar housekeeping or cleaning role, ideally within a hotel or other hospitality setting.
  • Basic knowledge of various cleaning chemicals, their safe handling, and proper usage procedures.
  • A naturally friendly, polite, and service-oriented attitude towards guests and colleagues alike.
