Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead nanny or parent with daily childcare activities, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and putting children down for naps.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, such as reading, crafts, games, and outdoor play.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for children, maintaining tidiness in play areas and children's rooms.
  • Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for children, adhering to any dietary restrictions or allergies.
  • Support children's emotional and social development through positive reinforcement and attentive interaction.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents or lead nanny regarding children’s daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
  • Perform light household duties related to childcare, such as children's laundry and tidying up after meals and playtime.
  • Accompany children to school, appointments, or extracurricular activities as required.
  • Handle minor first aid situations and ensure immediate escalation of serious incidents.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience working with children in a childcare setting (e.g., daycare, babysitting, nannying)
  • Strong understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of patience, empathy, and a nurturing demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (child and infant)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field
  • Experience with children of diverse age groups, including infants and toddlers
  • Knowledge of various child development philosophies and techniques
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (if driving children is required)
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi) is an asset
