Job Description
Career.zycto is on the lookout for a talented and passionate UX/UI Designer to join our growing team in Carrickfergus. As a core member of our product development cycle, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and refining the user experience and interface for both our web and mobile applications. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of user psychology, and a proven ability to translate complex requirements into beautiful, functional, and intuitive designs. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders, from initial research and ideation through to final implementation and iteration.
We expect you to be a proactive advocate for the user, capable of conducting user research, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. Your designs will not only be aesthetically pleasing but also highly usable, accessible, and aligned with our brand identity. You’ll champion best practices in UX/UI design, contribute to our design system, and ensure consistency across all our digital products. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs, behaviours, and motivations.
- Translate user research findings and business requirements into effective user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Design intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency across platforms.
- Create high-fidelity mockups, design specifications, and interactive prototypes for development teams.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, usability testing results, and analytical data.
- Contribute to and maintain our evolving design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Stay abreast of the latest UX/UI trends, tools, and best practices, proactively suggesting improvements and innovations.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design for web and mobile applications.
- Proficiency with leading design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UX/UI design projects, demonstrating a user-centred design process.
- Solid understanding of user-centred design principles, information architecture, and usability best practices.
- Experience with conducting user research, user interviews, and usability testing.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.
- A strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better understand technical constraints.
- Experience designing for accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Familiarity with animation and micro-interaction design.
