Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor crushing, screening, and washing plants efficiently and safely.
  • Manage heavy equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, and bulldozers for material handling and stockpiling.
  • Conduct routine pre-shift inspections, fluid checks, and perform minor maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure operational readiness.
  • Monitor plant performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and make necessary adjustments for optimal efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all site safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and production issues promptly to supervisors and relevant teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment usage, and maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team for scheduled servicing and more complex repairs.
  • Assist in general site housekeeping and ensure the plant area is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Load and unload materials as required, ensuring proper material segregation and quality control.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) operating heavy quarry machinery (e.g., crushers, screeners, loaders, excavators).
  • Strong understanding of quarrying processes, aggregate production, and material handling techniques.
  • Proficiency in conducting pre-operational checks and basic equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Demonstrated adherence to strict safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic outdoor environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions and demanding physical environments.
  • Valid driver's license (Class B or equivalent; Class C or CE preferred for specific heavy equipment).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal certification or vocational training in operating heavy machinery or plant operations.
  • Experience with PLC control systems for quarry plants and automated machinery.
  • Knowledge of German language (B1 level or higher) for effective site communication and safety briefings.
  • First Aid certification and/or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within Germany or the European Union.
