Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service, assisting them with product selection and recommendations based on their preferences.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently, handling cash and card transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment, including shelving, display areas, and backstock.
- Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise, ensuring proper rotation and inventory levels.
- Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with all age-related sales regulations.
- Stay informed about new products, promotions, and beverage trends to effectively educate customers.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor issues professionally, escalating complex matters to management.
- Assist with inventory counts and contribute to maintaining accurate stock records.
- Ensure the security of the store and its merchandise.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and handle cash accurately
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to lift and carry cases of beverages (up to 20kg)
- Must be of legal age to sell alcohol in Germany (18+)
- Basic computer proficiency for POS system operation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or a bottle shop environment
- Fluent in German (written and spoken) and conversational English
- Basic knowledge of wines, craft beers, and spirits
