This includes regular stock audits, managing stock rotation, and implementing best practices for warehouse organization to maximize space utilization and accessibility. A significant part of your responsibility will be to coordinate all incoming and outgoing shipments, meticulously planning routes, scheduling deliveries, and liaising effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation. This includes preparing and verifying all necessary shipping documentation, tracking consignments in real-time, and proactively resolving any logistical challenges that may arise, always with an eye towards minimizing delays and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all inbound and outbound logistics activities for warehouse and delivery operations.
  • Manage inventory control, including accurate stock levels, rotation, and regular reconciliation.
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes and schedules for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Liaise effectively with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare, verify, and process all necessary shipping, customs, and delivery documentation.
  • Track and trace shipments in real-time, providing timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve logistics-related issues, discrepancies, and delays promptly and efficiently.
  • Utilize logistics software (WMS, TMS) and systems for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
  • Monitor carrier performance, negotiate favorable shipping rates, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Implement and advocate for continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse and delivery processes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles, practices, and systems.
  • Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., WMS, TMS) and advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel).
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks and priorities under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience with international shipping and customs procedures.
  • Knowledge of local transportation regulations and infrastructure in Jamaica.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is considered an asset.
