Job Description
Are you a highly skilled and dedicated Machine Maintenance Technician passionate about ensuring the seamless operation of manufacturing machinery? Sina Gerard Urwibutso is seeking an experienced and proactive individual to join our dynamic team at our factory plant in Muhanga. As a Skilled Machine Maintenance Technician, you will be instrumental in the smooth running of our production lines, performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide array of industrial equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, executing repairs, and implementing maintenance schedules that minimize downtime and optimize machinery performance. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on factory machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment, often under pressure to minimize disruption.
- Execute timely and effective repairs, including component replacement, adjustments, and calibration, to restore machinery functionality.
- Conduct regular inspections of machines and systems, identifying potential problems before they escalate into major breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and spare parts used, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to understand equipment performance issues, provide technical insights, and implement lasting solutions.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of new machinery and upgrades.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians or production operators as needed, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing machine reliability, efficiency, and overall operational excellence.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and circuit diagrams accurately.
- Extensive experience with various hand and power tools common in industrial maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with a methodical approach to fault finding.
- Unwavering commitment to safety procedures and best practices in a factory environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience working with food processing or beverage manufacturing machinery, including packaging and bottling lines.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
- Proficiency in both English and Kinyarwanda for clear communication within the team.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S methodologies for workplace organization and efficiency.
