We are seeking an astute and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Stoke-on-Trent. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule freight movements for inbound and outbound shipments, optimising routes and methods for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Liaise directly with freight forwarders, carriers, and suppliers to negotiate rates, book transport, and confirm delivery schedules.
- Monitor and track shipments from origin to destination, providing real-time updates and proactively addressing potential delays or issues.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs forms, bills of lading, and delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse operations to ensure optimal storage and dispatch of goods.
- Investigate and resolve logistics-related discrepancies, damages, or customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Analyse transportation costs and service levels to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to all national and international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation coordination.
- Proficiency in logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding, customs procedures, and international shipping regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
