Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle for the transportation and delivery of goods.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes in the most efficient manner, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of delivery orders, obtain necessary signatures, and process delivery documentation.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions at delivery points.
- Handle cash or card payments for deliveries as required, with accurate record-keeping.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class A or equivalent for commercial vehicles in Jamaica).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or delivery role.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Excellent knowledge of Falmouth and surrounding Trelawny Parish roads and routes.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with navigation tools (GPS, maps).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with handheld devices for delivery tracking and signature capture.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle checks.
- Customer service experience in a client-facing role.
