Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our facilities team in Petite Rivière, Black River District. This pivotal role involves the comprehensive care and enhancement of our diverse outdoor spaces, including meticulously maintained landscapes and expansive compound areas. We are looking for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for horticulture and environmental stewardship.

As our Gardener, you will be responsible for upholding the aesthetic appeal and health of all green areas. Your daily tasks will range from routine maintenance like mowing, weeding, pruning, and watering, to more specialized landscaping projects. This includes the planting of seasonal flowers, shrubs, and trees, ensuring they are positioned for optimal growth and visual impact. You will also be entrusted with the management of irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water usage and proper hydration for all plant life.

Beyond routine upkeep, this role demands proactive problem-solving. You will be expected to identify and address issues such as pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, applying appropriate organic or conventional treatments as necessary. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing.
  • Plant, cultivate, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plant materials.
  • Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
  • Manage irrigation systems, ensuring proper watering schedules and efficient water usage.
  • Identify and treat plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all pathways, outdoor areas, and compound facilities.
  • Assist in landscaping projects, including design implementation and hardscaping elements as needed.
  • Monitor plant health and adjust care routines based on seasonal changes and environmental factors.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while performing duties.
  • Dispose of green waste and other refuse properly.
  • Collaborate with other team members on larger outdoor maintenance and beautification projects.

Required Skills
