Job Description

As a Desktop Support Officer at Career.zycto, you will be the vital first point of contact for all internal IT support needs, ensuring our team members across various departments have the reliable technology and assistance they require to perform their best work. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operating system problems (Windows, macOS) and common business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within various systems (e.g., Active Directory, cloud platforms).
  • Perform regular system diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and software updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for support procedures, technical solutions, and hardware/software inventories.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including Wi-Fi connectivity, VPN issues, and local area network (LAN) problems.
  • Educate and guide users on IT best practices, security awareness, and efficient use of technology.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on larger infrastructure projects, system rollouts, and process improvements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with internal IT policies, data security standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Proven proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting Windows 10/11 operating systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Demonstrated experience with hardware troubleshooting, component replacement, and configuration.
  • Basic understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and user account management principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clear and empathetic user support.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively within a team environment.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential for communication with international teams and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with macOS and Apple hardware support.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools (e.g., Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow) and ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based productivity suites (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace administration).
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) for automation tasks.
  • Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher) is a significant advantage.
