Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels.
- Ensure the safety of all participants at all times, adhering to all facility rules and safety protocols.
- Provide clear, concise, and engaging instruction on swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety.
- Assess students' abilities and progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding progress and any concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool area and equipment.
- Respond to emergencies and administer first aid/CPR if necessary.
- Attend regular staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Maintain accurate attendance and progress records for all students.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a swim instructor or assistant swim instructor.
- Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Current nationally recognized Lifeguard Certification (e.g., DLRG Rettungsschwimmer Bronze/Silber or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and adults.
- Ability to demonstrate various swimming strokes and techniques effectively.
- Strong understanding of water safety principles and emergency procedures.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching diverse age groups, including infants, toddlers, and adults.
- Additional certifications in specialized aquatic programs or coaching.
- Fluency in German (B1 level or higher) to effectively communicate with local clientele.
- Previous experience working in a community-based or recreational swimming program.
