Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and project managers to understand photographic briefs, objectives, and creative requirements for both event and commercial assignments.
- Plan and execute photographic shoots, including location scouting, equipment setup, lighting adjustments, and subject direction, ensuring high-quality output.
- Capture captivating images at various events such as weddings, parties, corporate functions, festivals, and community gatherings.
- Produce professional commercial photography for products, services, real estate, fashion, food, and corporate branding materials.
- Demonstrate proficiency in advanced photographic techniques, including aperture, shutter speed, ISO control, composition, and white balance.
- Perform comprehensive post-production work, including culling, retouching, color correction, and image manipulation using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Manage and organize digital assets efficiently, ensuring proper backup and archival procedures.
- Deliver final edited images in specified formats and resolutions within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Maintain and care for professional photography equipment, ensuring it is always in optimal working condition.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in photography and visual storytelling.
- Adhere to professional conduct and client confidentiality at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a professional photographer with a strong portfolio showcasing event and commercial work.
- Expertise in operating professional-grade DSLR/Mirrorless cameras and associated lenses, flashes, and accessories.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for image editing and post-production.
- Strong understanding of lighting techniques, both natural and artificial, and ability to adapt to diverse shooting environments.
- Excellent eye for composition, aesthetics, and storytelling through visuals.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and project coordination.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- Ownership of professional photography equipment (camera bodies, lenses, lighting, etc.).
- Reliable transportation to various shoot locations within Buff Bay, Portland, and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, Media Production, or a related field.
- Experience with video production and editing is a plus.
