Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes and our high-quality standards.
- Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other beverage-making equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal performance.
- Assist customers with menu selections, provide recommendations, accurately take orders, and efficiently process payments using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Serve freshly baked pastries, sandwiches, and other food items with meticulous attention to presentation and hygiene.
- Maintain an impeccably clean and organized work environment, including the coffee bar area, display cases, and customer seating areas.
- Restock inventory regularly, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, disposable items, and other supplies, ensuring availability.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve any issues promptly and professionally to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak hours and busy periods.
- Assist with both opening and closing duties, ensuring the shop is prepared for service or properly secured for the night.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meticulously follow recipes and instructions.
- Basic math skills for accurately handling transactions and making change.
- Punctual, reliable, and possessing a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 10 kg.
- Fluency in Portuguese is essential; basic English communication skills are a valuable plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6 months – 1 year) in a coffee shop, café, bakery, or other food service environment.
- Basic knowledge of various coffee brewing methods and introductory latte art techniques.
- Possession of a valid food handler's permit or a willingness to obtain one swiftly.
- Familiarity with standard POS (Point of Sale) systems.
