We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Aide Student Support professional to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group academic support to students under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials, setting up classrooms, and organizing learning resources.
- Help supervise students during classroom activities, playtime, lunch, and other school events, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Reinforce positive behavior and classroom rules, assisting in maintaining a calm and orderly learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the classroom teacher regarding academic performance and behavioral patterns.
- Assist students with special needs, including physical, emotional, or learning disabilities, as directed by the teacher and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support classroom administrative tasks such as taking attendance, organizing student work, and filing.
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents/guardians when necessary and appropriate.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to school policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Education, Early Childhood Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of proven experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or youth support setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting student learning and development.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience working with diverse student populations or students with special needs.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and educational technology.
