Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safe and efficient drone flight operations for data acquisition across various projects.
- Perform comprehensive pre-flight checks, planning, and detailed risk assessments for each mission.
- Ensure strict adherence to national and international aviation regulations, safety protocols, and company procedures.
- Execute diverse types of missions including aerial photography, videography, 2D/3D mapping, and infrastructure inspections.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot drone systems, batteries, and peripheral equipment.
- Process and manage raw aerial data, ensuring quality, accuracy, and integrity.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, data analysts, and clients to understand and meet project requirements.
- Accurately document flight logs, maintenance records, and operational reports.
- Stay updated with the latest drone technology, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Provide on-site support and technical expertise during field operations, adapting to varying conditions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Drone Pilot with a minimum of 2 years in commercial operations.
- Valid drone pilot certification/license (e.g., EU A2 Certificate of Competency or specific category authorization).
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations, airspace management, and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in flight planning software and ground control stations (GCS).
- Excellent manual piloting skills, alongside expertise in autonomous mission execution.
- Ability to perform basic drone maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with various sensor types including RGB, thermal, and LiDAR.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and superior situational awareness.
- Fluent communication skills in both English and German (written and verbal).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced drone pilot certifications (e.g., EASA Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) or equivalent national certifications).
- Experience with specific enterprise-grade drone platforms (e.g., DJI Enterprise series, Wingtra, senseFly).
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) or photogrammetry processing software (e.g., Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape).
- Background or practical experience in surveying, construction, agriculture, environmental science, or public safety.
