Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Trainer to join our vibrant computer school in Eldoret. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and delivering engaging IT training programs to a diverse student body, ranging from beginners to advanced learners. As an IT Trainer, you will be instrumental in equipping our students with practical, industry-relevant skills across various domains, including but not limited to, office productivity suites, operating systems, networking fundamentals, programming basics, and cybersecurity awareness. You will foster a stimulating classroom environment, encouraging active participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving. This position requires not only deep technical knowledge but also a passion for teaching, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt training methods to suit different learning styles. You will play a direct role in enhancing the employability and digital literacy of our students, making a tangible difference in their careers and lives. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about staying current with technological advancements and integrating new tools and concepts into our curriculum to keep our programs cutting-edge.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive IT training courses on subjects such as Microsoft Office Suite, computer hardware & software, operating systems, basic networking, and introductory programming.
- Prepare engaging lesson plans, training materials, practical exercises, and assessments that cater to various learning levels and styles.
- Provide one-on-one and group instruction, offering mentorship and guidance to students, and responding to their technical queries effectively.
- Evaluate student progress through regular assessments, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.
- Continuously update course content and training methodologies to reflect current industry trends, software versions, and best practices.
- Administer and troubleshoot classroom computer systems, software, and networking equipment to ensure a seamless learning environment.
- Collaborate with academic staff to enhance curriculum development and integrate new technologies into existing programs.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, assembly, and troubleshooting
- Expertise in operating systems (Windows, basic Linux)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN concepts)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to teach complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Patience and a strong desire to help others learn and succeed
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Educator)
