Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of diagnostic imaging examinations including X-ray, CT, MRI, and potentially Ultrasound, ensuring high-quality images.
- Operate and maintain advanced radiology equipment, conducting daily quality assurance checks and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout the imaging process, explaining procedures clearly and providing reassurance.
- Accurately position patients for examinations, applying correct radiation protection techniques and protocols.
- Maintain meticulous patient records, image archives, and departmental logs in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, referring physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Participate in the training and supervision of junior radiographers and student radiographers.
- Adhere strictly to all departmental policies, procedures, and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Engage in continuous professional development, staying abreast of advancements in radiography techniques and technology.
Required Skills
- BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a Radiographer.
- Proven technical proficiency in operating a variety of diagnostic imaging modalities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
- Proficiency in using Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialist training or certification in advanced imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, CT, or Ultrasound).
