Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Social Worker to join our Family & Community team in Soho, London. This pivotal role involves working directly with individuals, children, and families to assess their needs, develop tailored support plans, and facilitate access to essential resources. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals and families to identify needs, risks, and strengths.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with service users and relevant agencies.
- Provide direct support, advice, and advocacy to individuals and families experiencing a range of social issues.
- Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely interventions and adherence to statutory guidelines and best practice.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to case discussions and strategic planning.
- Safeguard children and vulnerable adults, reporting concerns and participating in child protection conferences where necessary.
- Liaise effectively with external partners, including local authorities, schools, healthcare providers, and community groups.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and produce comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate group work and community outreach initiatives to promote social inclusion and wellbeing.
- Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- SWE registration (or equivalent UK professional body)
- Strong knowledge of relevant social care legislation and frameworks (e.g., Children Act 1989/2004, Care Act 2014)
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report writing skills
- Proficiency in communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex and demanding caseloads
- Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and cultural sensitivity
- IT literacy (MS Office Suite, case management systems)
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in Social Work
- Experience working within a multi-ethnic and diverse urban community
- Specialist knowledge in areas such as mental health, substance misuse, or domestic violence
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the local community
