Job Description

Career.zycto is on the lookout for a passionate and analytical UX Researcher to join our vibrant product team in Malindi. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our digital products by deeply understanding user needs, behaviors, and pain points through comprehensive research and hands-on product testing. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers, acting as the voice of the user throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Your primary focus will involve designing and executing user research studies, conducting usability tests, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data to uncover actionable insights. We are seeking someone who can not only identify issues but also articulate their root causes and propose innovative solutions that enhance user satisfaction and product effectiveness. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and execute a variety of user research activities including usability testing, interviews, surveys, field studies, and contextual inquiries.
  • Conduct thorough product testing to identify usability issues, bugs, and areas for improvement, documenting findings meticulously.
  • Analyze research data using appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Create and communicate research findings, user personas, journey maps, and other artifacts to diverse stakeholders across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and engineers to integrate user insights into product development cycles.
  • Champion user-centered design principles and advocate for the user throughout the product development process.
  • Stay current with the latest UX research trends, tools, and methodologies to continually improve our research practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative UX research.
  • Proficiency in various usability testing methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings effectively.
  • Familiarity with UX design principles and product development lifecycles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swahili is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Design, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Portfolio demonstrating previous UX research projects and their impact.
  • Experience with remote user research tools and platforms.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SPSS) for quantitative data.
