Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for clients across various age groups and conditions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised, evidence-based intervention plans.
- Provide direct therapy sessions using a range of therapeutic techniques and modalities.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on adaptive strategies, compensatory techniques, and home modifications.
- Recommend, prescribe, and assist with the fitting of assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
- Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, general practitioners, and external agencies to ensure holistic client care.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
- Actively participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and continuous professional development activities.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
Required Skills
- Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in conducting occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Demonstrable expertise in a range of therapeutic approaches and interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, manage a caseload effectively, and prioritise tasks.
- Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to person-centred care and upholding professional ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications or specialist training in areas such as neurological rehabilitation, paediatrics, mental health, or vocational rehabilitation.
- Experience working with a diverse client population in a community or private practice setting.
- Familiarity with digital health records systems and telehealth platforms.
- Membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
