Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail onto and off aircraft, using appropriate equipment and adhering to weight and balance regulations.
  • Operate various ground support equipment (GSE) such as tugs, belt loaders, container loaders, and pushback tractors safely and efficiently.
  • Guide aircraft to and from parking positions using hand signals, ensuring proper alignment and preventing collisions.
  • Communicate effectively with flight crews, other ground personnel, and operations control via radio and headsets.
  • Perform aircraft marshalling, wing walking, and chocking procedures as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized ramp area, including proper storage of equipment and materials.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures, airport regulations, and international aviation guidelines.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on assigned ground support equipment.
  • Assist with de-icing procedures or other weather-related ground operations as needed.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents promptly to supervision.

Required Skills

  • Valid driver's license (Class B or equivalent)
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance and pass a background check
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items (up to 32 kg) regularly, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts (early mornings, late evenings)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in ramp operations, logistics, or a physically demanding role
  • Experience operating ground support equipment (GSE)
  • Familiarity with airport operations and safety regulations
  • Basic knowledge of German language (A2/B1 level)
