Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sign off on safe and efficient flight plans, considering weather, NOTAMs, aircraft performance, and airspace restrictions.
- Calculate optimal fuel loads, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operational efficiency.
- Monitor flights in progress, providing real-time updates and support to flight crews regarding weather changes, NOTAMs, and operational adjustments.
- Communicate effectively with flight crews, air traffic control, maintenance, and ground operations personnel.
- Evaluate and disseminate critical meteorological information and aeronautical data to ensure flight safety.
- Ensure all flight operations comply with national and international aviation regulations (EASA, ICAO) and company policies.
- Initiate, coordinate, and manage emergency procedures in adverse conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all flight activities and dispatch decisions.
- Participate in pre-flight briefings and post-flight debriefings.
Required Skills
- Valid Flight Dispatcher license (e.g., FAA, EASA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Flight Dispatcher in an operational environment.
- Profound knowledge of aviation meteorology, air traffic control procedures, and aircraft performance.
- Expertise in flight planning software and navigation systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); German language skills highly advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment, including shift work, weekends, and holidays.
- Thorough understanding of relevant aviation regulations (e.g., EASA OPS).
