Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced NGO Driver to join a vital non-profit organization operating within Kilburn, London, and surrounding areas. This crucial role is at the heart of our client’s operations, ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of personnel, beneficiaries, and critical supplies to support various humanitarian and community development initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport staff, volunteers, beneficiaries, and materials to various locations as required by operational needs.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, water, tires, brakes, lights, etc.) and ensure vehicles are roadworthy before each journey.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks for all journeys, fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance records.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, organizational safety policies, and local regulations at all times.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of supplies and equipment, ensuring secure transport.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the designated supervisor.
- Perform minor vehicle repairs and routine maintenance tasks as necessary, or coordinate with external service providers for major repairs.
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of assigned vehicles.
- Provide logistical support for field activities, including setting up equipment or assisting with event preparations when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all passengers and organizational information.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B minimum) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or field-based role.
- Thorough knowledge of Kilburn, London road networks and traffic regulations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as operational needs dictate.
- Physical stamina to assist with loading/unloading and prolonged driving periods.
