Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a diligent and experienced Driver – Logistics & Delivery professional to join our growing team in Liberty, St. Ann’s Bay. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for the timely and secure transportation of goods across various locations, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. Your day will involve meticulous vehicle checks, accurate loading and unloading of cargo, adherence to delivery schedules, and clear communication with both our dispatch team and our valued clients. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-provided vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accurate counts of items for delivery and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery and pick-up.
- Maintain detailed delivery logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions with clients and the public.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, well-maintained, and fueled at all times.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed when not on delivery routes.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or higher in Jamaica)
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience (trucks, vans, delivery vehicles)
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents in the past 3 years
- Excellent knowledge of St. Ann’s Bay and surrounding areas in Jamaica
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in logistics, courier services, or freight delivery
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation applications
- Customer service training or experience
