As a Textile Designer at Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and refining textile designs from initial sketch to final production. You will collaborate closely with our product development, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs align with brand identity, market trends, and technical specifications. Your day-to-day will involve extensive research into current fashion, home decor, and industrial design trends, material innovations, and color palettes. Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze current and future trends in fashion, home decor, and textile design, including colors, patterns, and materials.
- Develop original textile designs, prints, and patterns using CAD software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and traditional drawing techniques.
- Create detailed technical specifications and artwork for production, ensuring design accuracy and feasibility.
- Select appropriate yarns, fabrics, and finishes in collaboration with material sourcing teams.
- Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and storyboards to communicate concepts effectively to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product development, marketing, and manufacturing teams throughout the design lifecycle.
- Review and approve strike-offs, lab dips, and production samples to maintain design integrity and quality.
- Maintain an organized digital and physical archive of designs, samples, and color standards.
- Stay updated on sustainable textile practices and incorporate eco-friendly considerations into designs where possible.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Textile Designer in a relevant industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for textile design.
- Strong understanding of color theory, pattern repeat, and textile construction techniques (weaving, knitting, printing).
- Excellent portfolio showcasing original textile designs and design process.
- Ability to sketch and illustrate concepts by hand.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Textile Design or a related field.
- Experience with specialized textile CAD software (e.g., NedGraphics, AVA CAD/CAM).
