Career.zycto is searching for experienced and highly reliable Truck Drivers to join our growing team in Whitefield, Manchester. This pivotal role involves both long-distance hauls across the UK and critical local deliveries within Greater Manchester, ensuring the timely and safe transport of goods to our valued clients. Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks, from meticulously planning your routes to comply with delivery schedules and traffic regulations, to performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle. You will be responsible for securely loading and unloading cargo, often using appropriate equipment, and ensuring all documentation is accurately completed. Maintaining open communication with dispatch and clients, reporting any delays, issues, or accidents promptly, will be crucial. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently for both long-distance and local routes.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Load, unload, and secure cargo properly, adhering to safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules, adapting to unforeseen delays or conditions.
  • Complete and maintain accurate logbooks, delivery manifests, and all required paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members regarding deliveries or issues.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, HGV regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good operating condition of the vehicle.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and interactions with clients.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
  • Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification.
  • Digital Tachograph card.
  • Proven experience as a truck driver, handling both long-distance and local deliveries.
  • Clean driving record with no major endorsements.
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with various types of cargo and delivery challenges.
  • Knowledge of Greater Manchester and broader UK road networks.
  • Forklift license or experience operating other material handling equipment.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
