Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing team in the Manchester area, focusing specifically on critical infrastructure and road construction projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the detailed design of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, drainage systems, and associated earthworks, using industry-standard software.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, and tender documentation in accordance with UK design standards and client requirements.
- Conduct site investigations, surveys, and assessments to inform design decisions and identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within financial parameters.
- Ensure strict adherence to relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations (e.g., CDM Regulations, DMRB, MCHW).
- Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, local authorities, and third-party contractors, providing expert advice and resolving technical queries.
- Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring designs are implemented correctly and standards are maintained.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and client presentations, representing Career.zycto with professionalism and technical expertise.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with a proven track record in infrastructure and road construction projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of UK design standards, regulations, and codes of practice (e.g., DMRB, MCHW, Sewers for Adoption).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing clear reports and presenting complex information.
- Full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE) or actively working towards it.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodologies and software.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM PMQ).
- Experience in client relationship management and business development activities.
