Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive podiatric assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of foot and lower limb conditions, such as ingrown toenails, corns, calluses, fungal infections, plantar fasciitis, and diabetic foot complications.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating conservative therapies, orthotic prescription, wound care, and minor surgical procedures where necessary.
  • Provide expert advice and education to patients regarding foot health, footwear, hygiene, and preventive measures.
  • Perform biomechanical assessments and gait analysis to identify underlying causes of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.
  • Prescribe, fit, and dispense custom-made orthotic devices to improve foot function and alleviate discomfort.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including general practitioners, physiotherapists, and endocrinologists, to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with professional and legal standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay abreast of the latest advancements in podiatric medicine.

Required Skills

  • State-recognized qualification as a Podiatrist (Podologe/in) in Germany.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a podiatric setting.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of foot and lower limb pathologies.
  • Strong understanding of biomechanics and gait analysis.
  • Experience with wound care, especially for diabetic foot conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Fluency in German (C1 level or higher) is essential for patient interaction and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional certifications or specialized training in areas such as diabetic foot care, sports podiatry, or manual therapy.
  • Experience with advanced diagnostic equipment (e.g., pressure plates, 3D foot scanners).
  • Familiarity with relevant German healthcare regulations and billing procedures.
  • Proficiency in English or other languages is a plus.
