Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly talented and self-motivated Freelance Photographer specializing in both event and commercial photography to join our network of creative professionals. Based in Clark’s Town, Trelawny, this role offers the exciting opportunity to work on a diverse array of projects for various clients across Jamaica. You will be instrumental in capturing compelling visual stories, from the energetic pulse of corporate events and conferences to the refined aesthetics of product launches, lifestyle shoots, and real estate showcases. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand project briefs, objectives, and specific visual requirements for each assignment.
- Plan and execute photoshoots for various events (e.g., weddings, corporate functions, private parties) and commercial projects (e.g., product photography, headshots, architectural, lifestyle).
- Utilize professional-grade camera equipment, lighting setups, and other accessories to achieve desired visual outcomes.
- Direct subjects and manage scenes effectively to capture authentic moments and compelling compositions.
- Perform extensive post-production work, including culling, editing, retouching, and color correction using industry-standard software.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-resolution, edited images to clients, adhering to agreed-upon specifications and deadlines.
- Manage and maintain photography equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition.
- Proactively seek and respond to new project opportunities presented through Career.zycto’s network.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and provide exceptional client service throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in professional DSLR/mirrorless camera systems and associated lenses.
- Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for post-production.
- Strong understanding of lighting techniques (natural, artificial, studio) and composition principles.
- Demonstrable portfolio showcasing a range of event and commercial photography work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and subject direction.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for on-location shoots.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Proficiency in drone photography and licensed drone operation.
- Knowledge of local Trelawny and Jamaican culture for contextual project insights.
