Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of disability support workers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop, implement, and review person-centered support plans in collaboration with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, individualized support services that promote independence, dignity, and community integration.
- Oversee daily operations, including staff rostering, resource allocation, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, organizational, and funding body requirements and standards.
- Advocate for the rights and interests of individuals with disabilities, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Manage and resolve challenging situations and critical incidents effectively and empathetically.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting as required.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, actively seeking feedback and implementing best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in disability support services, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of person-centered planning principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in German and English (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in disability support in Germany.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with client management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Disability Studies, Psychology, Nursing, or a related field.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid German driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Experience in budget management and administrative oversight within a social services context.
