Job Description

Are you a highly skilled and passionate photographer with a keen eye for detail and a knack for storytelling? Career.zycto is seeking a talented freelance Photographer to join our network of creative professionals in Black River, St. Elizabeth. This dynamic role involves capturing high-quality images for a diverse range of clients, spanning both event and commercial photography. You’ll be responsible for documenting live events – from corporate functions and public gatherings to private celebrations – ensuring every significant moment is beautifully preserved. On the commercial front, you will work on projects such as product photography, lifestyle shoots for brands, and creating visual content that elevates our clients’ marketing efforts. We are looking for an individual who can not only master the technical aspects of photography but also possesses the artistic vision to transform concepts into captivating visuals. The ideal candidate will be adept at both on-location shooting and subsequent post-production, delivering polished, client-ready images that exceed expectations. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute photography assignments for events (corporate, social, public) and commercial projects (product, lifestyle, branding).
  • Utilize professional-grade camera equipment, lighting, and accessories to capture high-quality images.
  • Direct subjects and manage scenes effectively to achieve desired photographic outcomes.
  • Perform comprehensive post-production work, including culling, editing, retouching, and color correction, using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
  • Ensure timely delivery of edited images to clients, adhering to project deadlines and specifications.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage and organize photographic equipment, ensuring it is well-maintained and in optimal working condition.
  • Continuously develop and refine photographic techniques and creative vision.
  • Adhere to ethical photography practices and client confidentiality agreements.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a professional photographer, specializing in events and commercial work.
  • Expertise in operating professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lenses, and external lighting equipment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for image editing and retouching.
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, color theory, and photographic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and subject direction.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work consistently.
  • A portfolio showcasing diverse event and commercial photography work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal education or certification in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience with videography and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
  • Familiarity with marketing and branding principles to enhance commercial photography impact.
  • Existing network or client base in Black River or St. Elizabeth parish.
