Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Finance Officer with a strong focus on budgeting and accounts reconciliation to join our expanding team in Moseley, Birmingham. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyse, and monitor departmental and organisational budgets, providing regular variance analysis and forecasts to key stakeholders.
- Perform comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts reconciliations for bank accounts, general ledgers, and other control accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and audit documentation, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
- Process invoices, expense claims, and payments, ensuring accuracy, proper authorisation, and timely execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams across various departments to gather financial data and provide insightful analysis for operational improvements.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies in financial records and reconciliation statements, implementing timely corrective actions.
- Maintain robust financial controls and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in budgeting, financial analysis, and comprehensive accounts reconciliation.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all financial tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex financial data clearly.
