Job Description
Join our team as a Fruit Picking Laborer in beautiful Leduc, Alberta, and play a crucial role in bringing fresh, locally grown produce to tables across the region! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in an outdoor setting, enjoy physical work, and take pride in their contribution to the agricultural sector. As a Fruit Picking Laborer, you will be an essential part of our harvest crew, responsible for the careful and efficient collection of various fruits directly from the fields. Your day will involve working alongside a dedicated team, ensuring that produce is picked at its peak ripeness, handled with care to prevent bruising, and packed according to stringent quality standards. This role is fundamental to our operation, directly impacting the freshness and marketability of our produce.
The daily routine will involve early mornings, working in various weather conditions—from warm sunny days to cooler, overcast periods—and consistent physical activity including bending, lifting, and repetitive motions. You will be trained on specific picking techniques for different fruit types, as well as on proper use of picking equipment and containers. Attention to detail is paramount to distinguish ripe from unripe fruit, ensuring only the highest quality items are collected for market. This role requires an individual who is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a consistent pace throughout the workday, contributing to overall team productivity. You will learn best practices for fruit handling, quality control, and field safety, all while working in a supportive team environment.
We are committed to providing a safe and respectful work environment, offering comprehensive training to all new team members regardless of prior experience in agriculture. Our aim is to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in your role and contribute effectively to our harvest goals. This position offers a unique chance to connect with nature, enjoy the satisfaction of seeing tangible results from your efforts, and contribute directly to sustainable farming practices that support our local community. Working as a Fruit Picking Laborer is more than just a job; it’s an immersive experience in the heart of Alberta’s agricultural landscape. You’ll develop a keen eye for ripeness, improve your physical stamina, and gain valuable experience in agricultural operations. We value team players who can communicate effectively, adapt to changing weather conditions and harvest demands, and uphold our commitment to quality. If you are looking for meaningful work that gets you outdoors, allows you to be active, and contributes to the local food supply, we encourage you to apply. Be a part of a team that is passionate about delivering premium quality produce, from our fields to the community’s tables.
