Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and creative freelance Event Planner to join our network, specializing in both wedding and corporate events within the beautiful locale of Billy’s Bay, Treasure Beach, and wider St. Elizabeth Parish. This is an exceptional opportunity for an autonomous and driven individual to leverage their expertise in event management, working with a diverse clientele who seek unforgettable experiences in a picturesque Jamaican setting. As a freelance event planner, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, planning, and executing a wide array of events, from romantic beachside ceremonies and elegant receptions to impactful corporate conferences, team-building retreats, and executive gatherings.
Your role will involve end-to-end event management, beginning with initial client consultations to understand their vision and requirements. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive event proposals, managing budgets meticulously, sourcing and negotiating with local vendors (including caterers, decorators, entertainment, and venues), and overseeing all logistical aspects. A key part of this role is bringing a client’s dream event to life while ensuring seamless execution and exceptional service. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations with clients to understand their event vision, objectives, and budget.
- Develop detailed event proposals, timelines, and budgets for both wedding and corporate events.
- Source, negotiate with, and manage relationships with local vendors, suppliers, and venues.
- Coordinate all logistical elements, including catering, decor, entertainment, transportation, and accommodation.
- Manage event timelines and critical paths to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Oversee on-site event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring smooth operations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and vendors throughout the planning and execution phases.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during events calmly and effectively.
- Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and provide recommendations for future improvements.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience in event planning, specifically with weddings and corporate events.
