Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor inmate activities, ensuring compliance with institutional rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular security checks of cells, common areas, and inmate property to prevent contraband and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform inmate counts and verify identities accurately.
- Escort inmates within the facility, to court appearances, medical appointments, or other authorized locations.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, disturbances, and conflicts, employing de-escalation techniques and appropriate physical interventions when necessary.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with inmates, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Enforce disciplinary actions fairly and consistently according to established procedures.
- Participate in training programs to maintain proficiency in security procedures, self-defense, and first aid.
- Contribute to the rehabilitation process by supporting programs and promoting positive behavior among inmates.
