As a Van Driver, you will be the face of our company, responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of goods to various clients and locations within a designated local radius. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load, transport, and unload a variety of goods to designated locations within Tamworth and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, company policies, and driving hour limits.
- Perform daily vehicle checks, ensuring the van is in roadworthy condition and reporting any defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, complete manifests, and handle paperwork with precision.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and collections, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, potential delays, or issues.
- Assist with warehouse duties, including picking, packing, and sorting goods, when required.
- Ensure the security of goods in transit and compliance with security procedures.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional van driving experience.
- Excellent knowledge of local Tamworth and Birmingham road networks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry goods safely (up to 25kg).
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organised.
- Proficient in using GPS navigation and route planning tools.
- Demonstrable commitment to health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a multi-drop delivery role.
