Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport passengers to their desired destinations across Walsall and Birmingham.
- Adhere strictly to all UK traffic laws, regulations, and company policies, ensuring passenger and public safety.
- Maintain a high level of customer service, interacting with passengers courteously and professionally.
- Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage and other personal belongings as needed.
- Utilize dispatch systems and GPS navigation effectively to optimize routes and manage ride requests.
- Perform daily vehicle checks (e.g., fuel, oil, tyres, lights, cleanliness) and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Accurately handle cash and electronic payments, providing correct change and receipts.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and presentable at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding location, status, and any potential delays or issues.
- Adapt to changing road conditions, traffic, and passenger requests with professionalism and flexibility.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B or higher)
- Valid Private Hire Driver's Licence (PCO/PHV licence) for Walsall Council or a neighbouring council that operates within the Birmingham area.
- Excellent driving record with no major endorsements.
- In-depth knowledge of Walsall, Birmingham, and surrounding areas.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
