Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrician with a proven track record in both domestic and industrial wiring to join a dynamic team in the Willenhall, Birmingham area. Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in both domestic and industrial settings, adhering to BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
- Install, test, and commission new wiring systems, consumer units, lighting, power circuits, and control panels.
- Conduct fault finding, diagnosis, and rectification on complex electrical systems and machinery.
- Perform periodic inspections and testing (EICR) of existing electrical installations, ensuring compliance with current standards.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute wiring layouts efficiently.
- Advise clients on electrical solutions, improvements, and safety best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and safety checks.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and method statements.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification (or equivalent, e.g., 2394/2395).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022).
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience in both domestic and industrial electrical environments.
- Proficiency in fault finding, diagnostic techniques, and problem-solving.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation pertinent to electrical work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- ECS Gold Card or equivalent industry accreditation.
- Experience with specialist industrial control systems or machinery.
- IPAF or PASMA certification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- A track record of managing small-scale electrical projects from inception to completion.
