Career.zycto is seeking experienced and dedicated Builders – Site Construction & Labour to join our expanding team, contributing to various exciting construction projects across the Kings Norton and wider Birmingham area. As a Builder – Site Construction & Labour, you will play a crucial role in bringing architectural plans to life. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labourer duties on construction sites, assisting skilled trades.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment safely.
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, excavating, and setting up barriers.
  • Mix and pour concrete, lay bricks, and perform other basic construction tasks as instructed.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, grinders) competently and safely.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and site-specific procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Follow instructions from site supervisors, foremen, and project managers diligently.
  • Identify and report potential hazards, equipment malfunctions, or other issues on site.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in general construction labour or building.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of common hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to site safety procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to daily tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • NVQ Level 2 in Building Maintenance, Construction Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience operating basic plant machinery (e.g., excavators, dumpers) with relevant certification.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
