Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes and equipment, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
  • Conduct pilot plant studies and scale-up operations from laboratory to commercial production.
  • Perform process simulations, mass and energy balances, and feasibility studies using specialized software.
  • Analyze process data, identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, GMP).
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, quality control, and maintenance teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, process documentation, and operational manuals.
  • Contribute to capital project planning, execution, and commissioning.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, materials, and methodologies to enhance process performance and product quality.

Required Skills

  • Strong foundation in chemical engineering principles (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat/mass transfer, reaction kinetics).
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Hysys, gPROMS, ChemCAD).
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis, interpretation, and statistical process control.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Fluency in German (B2 level or higher) is highly advantageous for daily operations and team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or advanced materials manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for process and plant design.
  • Track record of innovation, including patents or publications in relevant areas.
