Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Strategically plan and optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency, considering factors like traffic, delivery windows, and fuel consumption.
- Manage inventory levels with precision, conduct regular stock counts, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate stock records.
- Liaise effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
- Track and monitor all shipments from origin to destination, providing proactive updates to relevant stakeholders and promptly resolving any transit issues.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and manifests.
- Implement and rigorously maintain warehouse safety and security standards in strict compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize advanced logistics software and tools to manage and track inventory, orders, and shipments effectively.
- Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance overall operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Handle customer inquiries related to deliveries and resolve any delivery-related complaints or challenges promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the training, mentoring, and supervision of warehouse staff and delivery personnel as needed, fostering a productive team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar supervisory/professional role within warehouse and delivery operations.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, inventory control, and logistics processes.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems) and advanced MS Office Suite skills (especially Excel for data analysis).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Robust problem-solving aptitude with a keen eye for detail and unwavering accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a key team member in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Thorough knowledge of local transportation regulations, customs procedures, and health and safety standards applicable to warehouse operations in Jamaica.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CILT, APICS CSCP, or similar).
- Demonstrable experience with advanced route optimization software and GPS tracking systems.
- Familiarity with lean principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies in a logistics context.
- Previous experience managing a small team or supervising junior logistics staff.
