Job Description
This role as a freelance Photographer – Events & Commercial offers an exciting opportunity for a creative and highly skilled professional to join our network, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across Greendale, Spanish Town, and broader St. Catherine. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and execute photography assignments for events (corporate, social, community) and commercial projects (product, lifestyle, branding).
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and specific photography requirements for each project.
- Utilize professional-grade photography equipment, ensuring optimal lighting, composition, and focus for all shots.
- Conduct on-site shoots efficiently and professionally, managing time effectively to capture all essential moments or commercial assets.
- Perform comprehensive post-production work, including culling, color correction, retouching, and cropping, to deliver polished, high-quality images.
- Adhere to agreed-upon deadlines for image delivery and ensure files are provided in specified formats and resolutions.
- Maintain and transport personal photography equipment safely and professionally.
- Develop and maintain a strong portfolio showcasing diverse event and commercial photography work.
- Provide exceptional client service, ensuring satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
- Manage invoicing and administrative tasks related to freelance assignments.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in digital photography techniques, including exposure, lighting, composition, and focus.
- Advanced proficiency in professional photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of event and commercial photography.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and briefing.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with professional DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment.
- A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of visual aesthetics and storytelling.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various locations within Spanish Town and surrounding areas.
- Business acumen suitable for managing a freelance photography service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Experience with videography or drone photography is a plus.
- Familiarity with local event venues and commercial photographic locations in Spanish Town.
