Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team in Marlie Mount, Old Harbour. This is a crucial role within our operations, responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods to various destinations across the region. You will be operating a company-provided vehicle, making adherence to traffic laws, company policies, and safety standards paramount. As a Driver – Logistics & Delivery, you will be the face of Career.zycto on the road, embodying our commitment to efficiency and customer satisfaction. Your daily duties will involve not only driving but also careful loading and unloading of packages, verifying delivery contents, and accurately completing all necessary paperwork. We are looking for someone with a strong sense of direction, excellent time management skills to ensure deliveries are made within specified windows, and the ability to adapt to varying road conditions and schedules. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company-provided vehicle for the delivery and collection of goods.
  • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, adhering to schedules and timelines.
  • Accurately load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate the delivery vehicle.
  • Maintain precise records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle maintenance, and fuel consumption.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all national and local traffic laws, company safety regulations, and operational policies.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during all interactions at delivery points.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status or potential delays.
  • Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, manifests, and proofs of delivery, ensuring accuracy.
  • Assist with warehouse duties, such as sorting, packing, and organizing goods, when not on delivery routes.

Required Skills

  • Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent for Jamaica).
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a logistics or delivery role.
  • Clean driving record with no major accidents or violations.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Marlie Mount, Old Harbour, and surrounding St. Catherine areas.
  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs consistently.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to traffic regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge to identify and report issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in defensive driving.
  • Experience using handheld devices for delivery tracking and navigation.
  • Prior experience driving light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
  • A proactive attitude and problem-solving abilities on the road.
