Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiographer to join our dedicated team in Garthamlock, Glasgow. As a Radiographer, you will be responsible for performing a comprehensive range of imaging examinations, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and potentially other modalities, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety at all times.

Your day-to-day will involve direct patient interaction, requiring excellent communication skills to explain procedures, reassure patients, and ensure their comfort throughout the imaging process. You will operate advanced imaging equipment, requiring a strong understanding of its functionality, calibration, and maintenance protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and potentially other modalities, to the highest professional standards.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being throughout all imaging procedures, adhering strictly to radiation protection guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain advanced radiologic equipment, conducting routine checks and identifying potential issues.
  • Accurately position patients for imaging examinations, ensuring optimal image quality and minimal repeat scans.
  • Verify patient identity, medical history, and physician orders to ensure correct procedures are performed.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation of imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous professional development initiatives.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring informed consent.
  • Adhere to all local and national healthcare regulations and professional standards.

Required Skills

  • BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a Radiographer.
  • Proficiency in operating X-ray, CT, and MRI equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification or specialist certification in a specific imaging modality (e.g., MRI, CT).
  • Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System).
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Experience in an acute hospital or large diagnostic centre environment.
